Recently, the Ministry of Transport established a research team to conduct research on the transformation and development of bus passenger stations in Shandong Province. On April 12th, the research team conducted research and investigation at Jinan Long-distance Bus Terminal and Bus West Station.
The research team visited the passenger transportation sites such as the ticket sales hall and waiting hall of the station for on-site inspections. During the discussion and exchange, relevant leaders from the Provincial Department of Transportation, the Provincial Road Transport Association, and the Jinan Urban Rural Transport Bureau delivered exchange speeches. Transportation Group has reported on the social welfare attributes of bus stations, the reduction and exemption of operating bus and highway tolls, the reduction and exemption of station property tax, financial policy support, employee resettlement and diversion, changes in land properties, and approval of bus routes.
The relevant leaders of Transportation Group have proposed development suggestions and specific measures on how to break through the limitations of traditional business models, better adapt to market demand, and gradually transform towards diversification and comprehensiveness for bus passenger stations. One is to carry out photovoltaic charging business. As an urban transportation hub, passenger stations have geographical and site resource advantages, which can fully utilize existing site resources to carry out photovoltaic charging business and provide convenient charging services for the general public; The second is to carry out night market economic investment business. Night market economy is one of the hot topics in the current urban economic development. Passenger stations can fully utilize their own location characteristics and operating hours to carry out night market economic investment business, providing citizens with more diversified consumption choices.
The Ministry of Transport has highly recognized enterprise research and stated that it conducts research on issues of common concern to enterprises, formulates relevant policies, and fully supports the transformation and development of road passenger transport enterprises and bus passenger stations.
